Motor Vehicle Accident Claims

Did You Know ... ?

Picture
      Injuries sustained from car accidents are very common. If not treated immediately, it can have long lasting and, most often, debilitating effects. These injuries often  result in an inability to perform daily activities, and cause drop in productivity levels or missed days at work. In many cases, these injuries surface slowly and very subtly. However, no matter the seriousness of the accident, it is important that you seek medical evaluation from your physician as soon as possible. Doing so will get you started on treatments necessary to put you back on track.

If you have been in a car accident, your  primary physician, chiropractor, or physical therapist may prescribe or recommend massage therapy as part of your recovery plan. Massage can often address many of the soft tissue injuries, which are commonly associated with motor vehicle accidents. Additionally, massage is highly beneficial in reducing the stress and anxiety often experienced after such traumatic events.

Most auto insurance companies have what is called (PIP) personal injury protection. This means that your medical bills will be paid at 100%. In Oregon, the amount covered under the personal injury protection (for reasonable and necessary medical, dental and other expenses one year after a crash), is generally up to $15,000. Massage therapy is often covered at 100% by auto insurances  as part of your injury recovery treatment plan from an auto accident, no matter who was at fault. We will take care of all the billings for your treatment so you can focus on healing and regaining your balanced lifestyle.

Common Injuries

The most common injuries due to auto accidents are:
        * whiplash
        * neck and shoulder pain
        * back pains
        * headaches
        * muscle spasm
        * joint pain and stiffness
        * chronic aches, pains, and fatigue

Massage Treatment Goals

The typical goals of massage therapy in injury recovery are:
           * to reduce stress and anxiety
           * to reduce pain and swelling

        * to improve circulation

        * to improve range of motion for maximum mobility
            * to properly facilitate healing of scar tissues
            * to prevent development of chronic pain
            * to reduce muscle spasms and cramping

What You Need To Do Before Your First Massage Session
            * Talk to your primary physician or chiropractor about establishing a massage treatment plan.
            * Request a written prescription for massage therapy (required for claims).
            * Gather the following information from your auto insurance:

        - name, address, and phone number of your insurance carrier

        - accident claim number

        - adjustor's name, office phone and fax number
            * If you have any questions, please feel free to call us. We are here to help you get back on track.
